Wild Gene bier Koen Vanmechelen_Genk_Mine Dalemans (35 van 35).jpg

Wild Gene is brewed by Brouwerij Anders in Halen (BE) and inspired on the work of artist Koen Vanmechelen

Wild Gene is a Belgian blonde beer that uses classic malts and a touch of sorghum — one of the oldest grains which gives this beer a unique, earthy flavor. While the Sorghum represents the Wild Gene, the true magic lies in the hops. A global mix of European Hallertau Blanc, African Southern Passion, Oceanic Pacific Sunrise, American Strata, and Asian Sorachi Ace that create a balanced, fruity profile.

The beer is dry-hopped to preserve the aromatic qualities, resulting in a fresh and fragrant beer with layers of complexity. It’s a perfect fusion of the old and the new, reflecting the ongoing evolution of craft brewing and celebrating the wild and untamed.

FOOD PAIRING

Wild Gene makes a great aperitif but is also very suitable to enjoy with food;

 Soft cheeses such as brie or camembert

Grilled vegetables and light salads

Fish dishes such as grilled salmon or sushi

Asian dishes with ginger or lemongrass

Or, go wild!

We wanted to honor Belgian tradition while reflecting Koen Vanmechelen’s philosophy. The result is a unique Cosmopolitan Belgian Blonde in which tradition meets a Wild Gene
